SUPPORT HOUSING FUNDING

Housing affordability is the top concern for Californians—and it’s hitting especially hard here in the Coachella Valley.

That’s why we’re calling on Senators Steve Padilla and Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh to keep leading the charge and get our request for vital state investment across the finish line. This funding would unlock nearly 1,000 new affordable homes and keep our progress alive—even as budget cuts threaten to stall momentum.

The Coachella Valley is leading by example—and the state is watching. Now’s the time to accelerate.

Sign the letter below to tell Senators Padilla and Ochoa Bogh that we need housing investments now—for the Coachella Valley and for all of California.

Letter to Senator Padilla and Senator Ochoa Bogh
Dear Senator Padilla and Senator Ochoa Bogh,

As a resident of Riverside County, I’m writing to urge you to fight for Lift to Rise’s affordable housing related budget request as final negotiations unfold.

You’ve already demonstrated leadership by carrying out this request — now we need you to press forward and ensure this funding makes it over the finish line. This investment directly impacts families like mine, bringing urgently needed affordable homes and
greater stability to our communities.

Even in a scaled-down form, this request delivers major returns — especially in a budget year where no new funding for affordable housing has been proposed.

The LA Times recognized both of your leadership on this request — and your continued support is vital.

Senator Padilla, you said it best:

“In tough budget times, you have to be very strategic… and this is a good example of [an effort] that’s proven some pretty impressive results.”

I couldn’t agree more. Please don’t let this moment slip away. Keep fighting for this proven, community-powered solution. We’re counting on you.
